Bad Satire

The bogus story comes from “entertainment” website Huzlers, which is one of the most prominent purveyors of bad satire online.

We read in the false report that the notorious drug lord was spotted in New York outside of Trump Tower only hours after his escape, taking selfies.

The fake story was probably inspired by Pitbull’s recent warning to Donald Trump to watch out for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who recently escaped from a Mexican prison.

It is a common ploy by low-end satire websites to use current events as a means to publish similar, yet outlandish stories which are often heavily shared on social media. In the case of El Chapo taking selfies outside of Trump Tower – it’s fake.

In a related fake story, Huzlers also has a phony report that El Chapo is offering $10 million to any U.S. citizen which will help hide him from authorities.
